We needed "black-out" curtains because of my husband's work schedule and these do the job well. You can still see some light shining over the top of the curtains, but I've never figured out a way to prevent that. I did get the 95" long curtains and hung the curtain rod right next to the ceiling. That does help with the amount of light that escapes over the top of the curtains. I also have the rod extending about four inches on either side of the window.

The curtains make the room very dark so that my husband can sleep in daylight hours. I have also found the black-out curtains are helpful when I have a migraine.

The fabric is very soft and luxurious. They are heavy and drape beautifully. I love the chocolate color!

These blackout curtains are AMAZING!!! I suffer from many ailments (insomnia, depression and PTSD to name a few) and sleep during the day and these curtains are AWESOME! I don't take any medications and these curtains are something I should have had YEARS ago!!! Anyone looking for total blackout curtains these are worth the purchase!!!!

I bought these drapes for my West facing dining room window. They drape beautifully, fully cover the window when pulled closed and take up only about 8-10 inches when opened. They are heavy weight and block the majority of the light. They do not have that ugly foam thermal backing of the 1960s. The back of the drape looks like the reverse side of the fabric. I am amazed at the quality of these drapes. I plan to order more for the living room.
